How do I set up trusted contacts?

Go to Settings → Trusted Contacts → Add Contact. You can import from your phone contacts or enter details manually. These contacts will be notified during SOS alerts.

How does the SOS feature work?

Long-press the SOS button on the home screen for 3 seconds. This will immediately send SMS alerts with your live location to all trusted contacts and optionally call your primary emergency contact.

What is Safe Journey?

Safe Journey lets you share your real-time location with trusted contacts while traveling. They can track your journey until you reach your destination safely.

How does the Fake Call feature work?

Go to the Fake Call section and set up a caller name and delay. When activated, you'll receive a realistic-looking incoming call to help you exit uncomfortable situations.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data is encrypted and stored securely. Location data is only shared with your trusted contacts during active SOS or journey tracking. We do not sell or share your personal information.

Does the app work offline?

Core features like SOS SMS alerts work offline. However, features requiring internet (live tracking, volunteer network) need connectivity.

Kaavala requires the following permissions to function:

  • Location: To share your position during emergencies
  • Camera/Microphone: For evidence recording
  • Contacts: To import trusted contacts
  • SMS: To send emergency alerts
  • Phone: For emergency calls and fake calls
